Bishop McCort High School Reviews

My mother & myself & 2 of my children have gone to this school and if you live in the City of Johnstown it is the only place to send you child there is no comparison to the public school available, McCort is superior to Greater Johnstown High school in too many areas to ist. I would put, education , discipline, safety & athletics very high on the list as a reason to select Bishop McCort. The teachers aren't paid very well yet they care about the kids & rank superior in their field. My children both made lasting friendships due to the kindness of the teacher & student to each other. its a family atmosphere I would rank it extremely high.

This school lacks modern technology and unfortunately cares more about sports then academics. The principal is the football coach. They put on a good show, which is what they are about, not a caring atmosphere that encourages individual thought and creative learning.

I went to this school and am happy to be able to send my daughters there. Many varied extracurricular activities are available to students. Students are encouraged to give back to the community through events such as blood drives and Friends and Neighbors Day when they host a luncheon and afternoon of fun for nursing home patients. Curriculum and academics is strong as graduating students perennially receive millions of dollars in scholarships. Sports teams are well coached and often produce winning programs. Teamwork is emphasized as is just having fun and enjoying the experience. Strong parental involvement is all programs. Christian atmosphere helps students develop good morals. Truly a pleasurable high school experience can be had at BMHS.

I went to this school. Although they are on the cutting edge and you get your money's worth, I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this school. Besides the 'idea' that all the students are better than anyone else, they also can make life hell for other students. I saw so many students harassing other students to the point of cruelty all while the school took on a 'kids will be kids' attitude. This school is great if you're rich and egotistical, but if you have a student who is 'different', I'd send them somewhere else. The education may be great, but the atmosphere is horrid. I rate it right under a detention center.
